Guy Salvatore Alitto is an American sinologist and Associate Professor Emeritus of History at the University of Chicago. His research fields include modern Chinese intellectual history, Chinese social history, Chinese local and rural history. His major publications include The Last Confucian: Liang Shuming and the Dilemma of Chinese Modernity and The Enduring Anxiety: Anti-Modernization Thought Trends in World-Wide Perspective, etc.
