Distinguished Contributions to China Studies Award Winner: Baik Young-Seo

Baik Young-Seo is Professor of History at Yonsei University, former Editor-in-chief of The Quarterly Changbi. His major research fields include the cultural identity recognition in Modern East Asia, China, Japan and Republic of Korea's view of Asia, knowledge construction and communication in Modern China, etc. His major publications include Thinking East Asia Horizontally: Rethinking East Asian History in Core Locations, Three Events Making China in 20th Century: Rethinking 1919, 1949 and 1989, and Returning to East Asia: Questioning the Modernity of China, etc.
