In 2023, the nationwide per capita disposable income was 39,218 yuan, a nominal increase of 6.3 percent over the previous year, and the real increase of 6.1 percent after deducting price factor. In terms of urban and rural areas, the per capita disposable income of urban residents was 51,821 yuan, an increase of 5.1 percent (unless otherwise specified below, it was a year-on-year nominal increase), and the real increase was 4.8 percent after deducting price factor; the per capita disposable income of rural residents was 21,691 yuan, an increase of 7.7 percent, and the real growth was 7.6 percent after deducting price factor.
